Police Increasing Patrols After Woman Reports Sexual Assault On Maryland Trail (Updated)

There will be increased patrols around the Sligo Creek Trail after a woman reported that she was groped in Montgomery County over the weekend.

The suspect was caught near the intersection of Sligo Creek Parkway and Three Oaks Drive in Silver Spring.

On Sunday afternoon, a woman reported to Park Police that she was walking along the trail near the intersection of Sligo Creek Parkway and Three Oaks Drive in Silver Spring when an unknown man came up from behind and grabbed her inappropriately before running away. 

Police say that in response, there will be an increased presence in the area as they continue to investigate the incident and review camera footage from the area.

The groper was described as being 5-foot-8 with a medium build, light skin, who was wearing a teal blue windbreaker, brown or tan cloth backpack with a buckle fastener, and a black ski mask covering most of his face.
